my writing progress report

Well! I have finally finished the chapter I’ve been working on for three weeks! It was a real sacrifice to tear myself away from Luo Yunxi and his shows, but I managed to do it in the end long enough to complete it :D I was worried that it was too short and too rushed but my beta-readers alleviated all my fears. I was prepared for their criticism but their feedback was very positive, which means that I can move onto the next part. I never planned on writing it before, so I’ll be writing from scratch, only using those notes that pertain to the past.

Speaking about Luo Yunxi, I finished “The Truth Within” late last night but it was worth it. I really enjoyed this intense cop drama. I wish there was a second season. Now I’m deliberating between “Light Chaser Rescue” and “Love is Sweet” from among his modern-set shows. But I’ve also started rewatching “Whispers of Fate” because Tang Lici is one of the best characters ever and I also want to keep watching both “Follow Your Heart” and “Till the end of the moon”. I’m also planning on rewatching “Shadow Punisher” because Li Si is an adorable character and I generally love the concept of the show.

Speaking about my modest writing-related achievements, I came across another review for «Таємниці закритої жіночої академії панни С» on Facebook. It’s a really good review, though I was sorry to read that the person had some trouble paying for the book through the publisher’s website. According to her, she felt as though she wanted to buy the book more than they wanted to sell it to her. Well, I’m just glad that she didn’t give up and that she didn’t regret buying it in the end.

my writing progress report

I’m quite proud of myself today. Do you want to know why? I finally managed to tear myself away from my laptop screen and the ethereal beauty that is Luo Yun Xi long enough to write 569 words! Obviously, it’s an extremely small amount of words written – but it’s a start! I was going to switch to my Ukrainian-language project starting Monday, but I think it’s better to continue working on my English-language project until I finish this chapter. So that’s the plan for next week.

Speaking about my current obsession with Chinese fantasy dramas starring Luo Yun Xi, I watched “Whispers of Fate” and “Shadow Punisher” in three weeks. I’ve also started watching “Till the end of the moon” and “Follow Your Heart” with him as well as a very intense modern-day crime show “The Truth Within”. He is an excellent actor and singer but seems to suffer from lack of notice and promotion from his company. I know exactly how that feels as my book has been completely neglected by my publishing house.

my writing progress report

Alas, I have completely failed to make any significant writing progress this week – in total only 1020 words. Of course, I can blame it all on the irresistible charm of Luo Yunxi as Tang Lici and Li Si as I’ve been watching “Whispers of Fate” and “Shadow Punisher” non-stop this week. However, I’m well aware that I’m simply hiding from the responsibility of figuring out the rest of the plot for “Dragonheart” now that I can no longer rely on previously written material or my notes. I intend to do better next week.

my writing progress report

The plan was to finish editing chapter eleven of my English-language fantasy novel (whose working title remains “Dragonheart” for now) on Monday and dedicate the rest of the week to working on my Ukrainian-language version of “Almendra’s Quest”. However, I only finished editing chapter eleven on Wednesday and when I tried to write in Ukrainian later that day it just wouldn’t work. It worked on Thursday, though. In fact, I’m still working on it, having written over 1000 words already.
